President

NOBLE Massachusetts President, Lisa Butner retired from Massachusetts State Police (MSP) in 2022 and moved on to Tufts University Police Department (TUPD) where she holds the rank of Detective Captain. She currently oversees all investigations, Internal Affairs, Executive Protection, Clery & Title IX Compliance, and Community outreach.

YOLANDA SMITH

Yolanda Smith

Secretary

Yolanda Smith has been with the Department since 1995, beginning her career as a correction officer at the House of Correction. She has also served as Corporal, Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent and the rank of Superintendent of the Suffolk County House of Correction where she oversaw an inmate population of nearly 1,800 and a staff of more than 500 trained correction officers.

Why we do it?

NOBLE Massachusetts' mission is to ensure equity in the administration of justice in the provision of public service to all communities, and to serve as the conscience of law enforcement by being committed to justice by action

What this means is that, in addition to examining the causes of crime and violence in black and urban communities, including the socio-economic conditions that exacerbate these conditions, we are focused on the improvement of police and community relations; fairness in the distribution of justice; the hiring and promotion of black police officers; and other issues that are uniquely related to black police executives.
